My car went through standing water in a storm — can that damage the transmission?
Yes, and it is one of the more common things we see after a Tampa storm season. Transmissions breathe through a vent, and driving through water deep enough to reach it can pull moisture into the case, where it turns the fluid milky and attacks the clutch material from the inside. It started slipping on the way home — should I keep driving it?
Stop driving it sooner rather than later.
